You’re Wasting Time On Social Media In 2024 If You Don’t Know These 5 Things

1. Follower count doesn’t matter! Mostly… while you don’t need 10K followers generally to get results, you can’t have 0 either.  But with 100 or 1,000 you can do a lot! It’s more about engaging the RIGHT followers than how many you have. If you have 1k followers who are all interested in your product/service you will sell more than if you have 10k followers who don’t have any interest. So focus on attracting the right followers with your content and bio and don’t pay as much attention to the number

2. You need a strategy. Posting just to get content out there never works in the long run. You will get burnt out and frustrated. You will have better results posting once per week with a strategy than posting daily with no direction. It doesn’t have to be difficult or time consuming either. For a simple social media strategy you can plan yourself – check out my Instagram post

3. Create content that feels good to you. If you’re not excited about it, basically your audience won’t be either. Talk about what lights you up in your business, the transformations you help your clients with, and show up in a way that just feels good for you. Accordingly, that feeling translates online and will help you attract the right followers.

4. You don’t need to be everywhere. Stop creating content on every platform. It’s exhausting and eventually it’s not sustainable unless you have a team. Pick your Power Platform instead! Every business should have a high impact social media platform that they focus on most. The one where a high concentration of your ideal client hangs out AND where you feel most comfortable posting. Focus on this 1 platform and perfect your content there. Then you can repurpose that content to 1-2 secondary platforms if you want.

5. You do need a content creation system. Creating a system that works for you will keep you consistent. Additionally, planning out a content calendar and blocking out time to create content will save a lot of time. Check out this post for the easiest way to plan your content creation system. It takes less than 1 hour a month and can be personalized to what works best for you!

Are you stuck with any of these? Are you overwhelmed by spending too much time on your social media?  I’d love to connect with you on Instagram. My DMs are always open for chats. I’m not going to pressure you to buy one of my services I promise! I’m there to chat and point you in the right direction. If my help happens to sound interesting to you, then you can ask me for a proposal and I’ll email it to you but again, no pressure!
